If you're trying to edit an image that you've pasted onto your page, just double click it, and it will be opened in the default program for that kind of file. If you'd like to change how it opens when you double click it, choose the menu Voodoopad -> Preferences -> Options -> External Image Editor and choose another image editor or viewer, such as Acorn, Preview, or iPhoto.

There are 3 different ways to bring things into your VoodooPad document. Often times you will be asked how you want it to handle it. We're going to define the differences, then talk about how best to go about bringing things in.
This is the most common way of bringing something into your document. Most of the time we copy things from email or websites and paste it into our VoodooPad document. The same thing can be applied to images as well. pasting puts the content into the page, and if deleted, it all goes away.

The easiest way to bring things into VoodooPad is to simply drag them in. Depending on the file type you'll get the option to Paste or Link. If VoodooPad can't Paste the file in, it will automatically link it. You can also drag in a whole bunch of files which will all be linked at once.
Services Menu
If you find yourself needing to paste stuff into your document but don't want to mess with all those pesky steps, try using the Services Menu.
Anywhere on your computer, highlight a bit of text.
Choose the Application Menu (The one that comes to the right of the apple) then Services -> VoodooPad
From there you'll have to option of Appending to Current Page, Appending to Services Drop Page, or Make a New Page and the text you have highlighted will magically find its way onto that page.
Bookmarklet
Have a million unorganized bookmarks? Try using VoodooPad's Bookmarklets∞ to make it better.
When you're on a website you would like to bookmark in VoodooPad, simply hit the button and the link will be copied without you having to worry about copying it correctly. Visit the Bookmarklets∞ page to add it into your browser, or check this video∞ out.

This will create a link to the document on your computer, clicking the link will do the same thing as double clicking the documents icon in Finder. This doesn't store the file inside the VoodooPad document, so don't delete them from your computer. You can, however, move it around and VoodooPad will find it again. Once imported, every time you type the file name it will link to that file. You can check out what you've got linked by choosing Window->Palettes->Page and Document Inspector selecting the Document Info tab and looking at the box that says Files & URLs next to it.
With the definitions out of the way, lets talk about how to make links.
File->Import...
This will allow you to bring in text files and other VoodooPad documents. Most text file formats are supported including txt, doc and rtf.
- Select File->Import... which will prompt you to find a file to import.
- Select one or more files that you would like to import. You can quickly select multiples by holding down the shift key or the command key.
- Once you have the files selected press the Import button.
- Your files will be imported and a new page will be created for each of them. The page name will be the same as the file name.
