Photo Cutout
Open your image in Acorn. Duplicate the layer by going to Layer ▸ Duplicate Layer (Shift+Command+D). You will want two copies of your image, as one will get cropped down and one will not.

On the bottom layer, with the Selection Tool (you can use either the rectangle or the oval, here I used the rectangle with rounded corners) select the area you want in your photo. We're going to cut out the antlers, as those are what we want sticking out the border of the photo. After you have your selection made, go to Select ▸ Inverse (Shift+Command+I). This will select the area outside of your photo. Hit the Delete key.

Your image should look like this.

Now, select the top layer. We need to erase everything but the antlers. The way I did this is to select large areas with the selection tool.

Then, hit the Delete key. See how our bottom layer shows through? Continue selecting and deleting the areas you want to take out.

Now that all the large parts have been erased, we need to erase around the ears and antlers.

This is the tedious part. You will have to erase all around the part of the image you want to be on the outside boundary. It's easier to start with a larger sized eraser then work your way to smaller sizes.

This is what the finished product looks like.
